Campaign Summary

Democratic voters on the go need to see, and voters at home need to read, more information about Jonathan Sahrbeck’s record when it comes to protecting survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.

As an Assistant District Attorney, Sahrbeck ran Cumberland County’s Human Trafficking Unit where he focused on prosecuting traffickers and educating law enforcement about the tell-tale signs of victimization.

As District Attorney, Sahrbeck worked with a coalition of local leaders including the Maine Women’s Lobby, Survivor Speak USA, and bill sponsor Rep. Rachel Talbot Ross to craft legislation that protected trafficking survivors from unnecessary prosecution[1]. Sahrbeck also added a domestic violence prosecutor and victim witness advocate so his office could better serve victims.
